For marriage registration with foreigner in Ukraine, you fiancГ© needs following documents:

But there exists a range of certain peculiarities at the process of document legalization for marriage registration abroad, in relation to country, in which this registration will occur.

Documents for permanent place of residence

In case of departure for permanent place of residence you must prepare the following documents for the embassy:

• Certificate of birth, marriage, divorce, change of surname, name and patronymic
• passport
• labor book (who is not older that 65)
• documents which confirm nationality (if necessary)

Legalization of documents in case of departure for education

For leafing abroad to get education you will need the following documents:

• originals of documents, which prove acquired education in Ukraine
• translation will be carried out in language of country where these documents will be presented with further notarization
• apostil is put on notarized translation
• documents feeding to embassy!

Before legalization of documents, examine them very attentively. There must be round stamp on all documents. Stamp must be readable. There must be nor corrections and erasures. Each certificate must have registration number, date of issue. The certificates of birth, marriage certificates, issued after 1991, and also marriage search certificate must have stamp of Regional department of justice, which issued the given document.

!!! For document legalization in the Ministry Of Foreign Affair our employee needs notarized letter of attorney from natural persons, from legal bodies – letter of attorney, affixed with the seal of company and accompanying letter for correspondent ministry.

Also it must be taken into consideration, that period of validity of police clearance certificate is three months, and marriage search certificate – six months. In police clearance certificate registration must be noted. Marriage search certificate can be issued at Civil Registry Office and only to person, whom this certificate belongs (it can’t be obtained by attorney). But it is possible to legalize marriage search certificate by attorney. Before provisions documents for translation ask at the embassy if it is necessary to translate them. There are embassies which provide document legalization without translation.

Also it must bear in mind that there is a range of documents, which cannot be legalized and apostil:

• originals and copies of passports;
• union cards;
• work record books;
• military service record cards;
• identity cards;
• pension cards;
• driver licenses;
• letters of reference;
• documents concerning affiliation to certain classes and confessions.
